Recently Graduated and Hopeful

I graduated from high school this June. It feels surreal that I have finally completed my K-12 education.

I didn't get into the college campus I wanted to, but I am grateful for what I have been able to achieve.

My life hasn't turned out exactly as I expected, but the biggest advice I could give to any young startup is that a life well-lived is one in which you embrace the inevitability of change.

Not exactly a novel realization, I am aware.

But it is an important one, nonetheless.

You cannot control every variable. You cannot escape change, and you can't escape death.

It is part and parcel with our evolutionary nature to roll with the punches and make the best of what we've been handed.

I wrote this in one of my unpublished poems, and I thought it relevant to share.

"It’s not an honorable living

But it is one in which

The damned soul does survive

Before being reduced to husk in a sieve"

Live a life you are proud of. It is too short to lose sleep over people who do not have your best interests at heart.

Not everyone will like you or appreciate your skills. But it is a beautiful thing to wake up in this life, however strange and tragic, every morning.

The most we can do is try.

And as long as you strive to try, you have not yet failed.

Keep being resilient, fellow poet
