Shattered Dreams

There was pain and suffering even before 2020 hit.
Tsunamis of chaos and destruction had marred the world.
For a while, I was satisfied within my own small world,
needing nothing more.
But all changed since I turned 13.
The new virus arrived.
Life turned upside down.
Death, Misery, and Illness prevailed.
Humanity struggled,
but Hope persevered.
I’ve pondered on life fleeting before my very eyes,
wondering how someone like me can cope.
Reflecting on the good and bad.
Though socially distant,
Humanity united for a common cause.
To come together as One.
Necessary resources depleted,
but Faith, Empathy, and Kindness replenished where resources fell short.
Misinformation keeps lurking through the air,
Bias creeping in nooks and crannies of the hearts.
Don’t let the dirty politics fool you.
Or the misconceptions about masks.
This is when we must act.
To keep our World intact!
Oh America!
You have always persevered.
But now,
we stand apart like never before.
Let’s band together and join the good fight.
And turn unfortunate wrongs into hopeful rights.
Breaking the glass ceiling revealed shattered glass.
One nation’s views divided.
To revive America and mend the broken parts,
Let love rebuild and heal the fragments of a painful past.
